There was an Art and Wellness Fair in LIverpool on Saturday and after my weekly library visit, I stopped by and ended up staying for a while.

I loved looking at all the paintings.  One artist's colors were very deep and textured and I would have loved to afford one of her originals.  I visited the tai chi table, the Friends of the Library Table--- bought a hardcover for a dollar titled "Women's Work" --a cool book about women weavers of BauHaus.  There was music --that was really cool, live performers doing drums, singing folk songs, some jazz standards, swing music--there should be music at the park everyday, I felt very much like bliss surrounded by art and massage therapists with beautiful music.  There was a painter there who was American Indian who had animals hidden in all his paintings.  I saw one of my patients who designs and creates jewelry (a success story--she is now over 2 years in remission!).

Here are some images:A painting I purchased: I just love the colors and the naive quality. I also like how they repurpost wood and window frames etc. for their paintings.  There were a few Wizard of Oz pieces that I liked.

The boxes are some collage I played around with at The ARt Store's booth where they had a table full of stuff to mess around with.  The necklace and earrings are from Rochelle's booth.  I also bought a little nesting box set to organize some of my sewing stuff in from an artist who made an amazing halter and skirt set out of men's ties.  I was too shy to snap this.

Here is what I have been working on at home this weekend:
They are welder's caps for my husband in honor of Father's Day.  I totally completed one but the rest have to wait until I either get my sewing machine repaired or clean up one of my spares and set it up.  Either way, it is likely to be postponed as we are going on vacation this week.

Here are some shots of my yard:The front door and undisciplined clematis.
A little rabbit outside my window.
My overgrown rosebush.  I have been a negligent gardner this year.

Hi, I haven't decided yet what in the world I am doing with this space.  I already have a blog where I sometimes post about my current obsessions and basic day to day life.  I will decide in time I guess.  Anyway, Spring has come to my corner of the world and for some reason I feel like I have less time than ever to get anything accomplished and that I have less energy than ever to achieve it.

Current projects:  emptying out my basement so I can tear down the finished walls and the carpet.  This would be easy if I had places to put all my stuff.  So I end up having to declutter and clear up other areas so I can put things like furniture and shelving somewhere else.  This has become very consuming and while it is easy to say 'just throw it all out" I have to point out that I purchased much of this stuff for a good reason.  Just because I am not using now doesn't mean I won't.

So my gardening ideas are all going to have to wait until I get my house under control.

I need to gut my basement so I can get the basement people in to put in a system that will stop the water (I have a sump pump) from pooling after rains and thaws.  This was a major roadblock when we were trying to sell the house last year.  Then I want to refinish the basement and put my sew/craft room back there.  I have dreams of lovely organized white cabinet goodness.

My other project is taking care of my late father's estate.  Ugh.  My sister is offering help but I will wait until she no longer has law school finals before I send anything on to her.

I haven't been able to concentrate on any craft or sewing project while this has started except for some knitting.  I am midway in organizing my vast undisciplined pattern collection (as part of the basement vortex).

My hope is to get the basement to a place where the workmen can take over (for a time) and get back to my creative self.
